French Chateau is one of the most opulent & luxurious design styles out there.

It remains true to its historic origins which is France in the 17th to 18th century.

The walls are often decorated with lots of moldings & cornice, patterned wallpaper, even fabric wallpaper can be used, large oil portraits & mirrors inside golden frames.

If you ever see fireplaces or floor to ceiling windows surrounded by large mirrors from top to bottom, then the famous hall of mirrors in the Palace of Versailles might spring to mind.

Another feature of this design style is the a lit à la polonaise; the bed canopy which is the focal point in most bedrooms.

This design style can be used in villas & contrary to what most people would think: even inside apartments. All you need is the ability to outsource material, bit of creativity & the guts to go for it.
